Let me tell you a bit about me…
A Cuban by birth and a Key Biscayner by choice!
Born in Havana, Cuba, my family decided to leave our beloved country (1960) as socialism and dictatorship would be the new reality. Luckily, we discovered the community of Key Biscayne and settled here. I attended Immaculata Academy (now LaSalle High School) across the causeway, as my now husband (Ed) earned extra money giving a group of us a ride to school. Graduated from Barry University in 1967 (B.S. Fashion Merchandising) and Ed is so proud of being a Georgia Tech. Rambling Wreck. We have 2 children Alex and Aimee (Filiault) who will always be Key Rats but at this point in their lives they have traded their tank tops and water skis to snowboarding and sweaters living and working for the Ritz Carlton in Vail, Co. I am the proud Abi to Ellie and newborn Sophie thanks to Aimee and Shaun. I pray for Alex to find his significant other soon.
I enjoy what I do- selling the island way of life…helping families find their permanent or temporary home on the island was the right career choice for me! Being an island resident for 50 years, I believe you can ask me almost anything about Key Biscayne- I will find you the answer! Ed is a certified Property Manager and we can gladly provide full service care while you are away and can be available anytime. (305-298-0497).
Firmly believing that you “Get by Giving”, making time to do what you love in your community is priceless. I am a member of the Fourth of July Parade Committee, trustee for Fortune Int’l. Realty at the Chamber of Commerce and make time to beautify our Village.
Some people know me as the Plant Lady; I love gardening and collecting exotic tropical plants. So since my garden is full, I expanded to create the Key Biscayne Library Garden Beautification Foundation, a lush oasis in the mist of al the concrete that surrounds it for all to enjoy. I am a member of the Village Landscape Committee, working with Village staff evaluating areas that we can enhance in a cost conscious way.
Sunday mornings you will find me walking our beach searching for sea shells and sea beans that people say bring you good luck. How lucky to have found my island paradise!
